The Pinta and Santa Maria are not in good shape these days but I didn't get inside the musuem where I would have had to be to see them up really close. On the other hand, the Nina looked real good. We visited Corpus in the early days when the ships were new in town too. I cannot imagine sailing across the ocean in the ships because they really are not all that big.TravelingLongdogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07562207397650862936noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2050287180076649026.post-59658549252258525302014-02-25T07:45:01.133-06:002014-02-25T07:45:01.133-06:00The Pinta and Santa Maria are dry docked at the Mu...The Pinta and Santa Maria are dry docked at the Museum while the Niña is docked at the marina That is the ship you have in photos #8 and 10. Stepping onboard these ships gives a person a sense of the challenges these early explorers experienced in 1492. PS-we lived in Corpus Christi for 20+ years and where there when these ships arrived. There has been hope that the Nina would be used as a tourist attraction sailing in Corpus Christi Bay.
