2024-11-14 Old River Road RV Park, Kerrville TX

Tuesday the 12th, I headed towards Old River Road RV in Kerrville TX. The rally I was going to didn't start until Thursday evening but my sister-in-law Elaine and I like to arrive early and stay late so we can have downtime to do whatever we want to do. I knew I didn't want to deal with the construction mess on 1604 in San Antonio so I took back roads through Boerne There was also construction mess in Bulverde that I didn't know about and even two construction areas closing one lane north on I-10. .I turned off on 27 at Comfort as the RV park is a ways out of Kerrville

I got my RV washed before the rally by "Attention to Detail" out of Bandera.who came to the park with their own water tank. They did a great job. Elaine and many others had their rigs washed over the next few days.

"Serendipity" looked bright and shiny after her bath. I waited to set up anything outside until the spa day was over.

Elaine and I took a ride back to Comfort to look around on Wednesday. We stopped at Comfort Pizza and wow, was it good. Wood fired thin pizza crust with really fresh toppings. All seating is outdoors but it was a beautiful day. They have pizza, ice cream, sodas, beer, and wine. It looks like an old fashioned corner gas station on the front but my picture seems to have disappeared. This is in the side yard where you pick your pizza up and sit.

This was a California BLT pizza which we split and had plenty for lunch the next day.

Interesting downtown billboard.

Akong the same side street, we saw this shop which had coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch in addition to a ton of antiques and Christmas items.

Pretty snazzy entrance.

They go all out with Christmas decorations this time of year.

The inside is large but there is also a huge area out back with individual shop areas all around it. They are all run by individuals.

Thursday afternoon we signed into the rally and then some of us headed to Center Point which is between the RV park and Comfort. We ate at a unique little place called Toucan Jim's. Most seating is outside. They have some sort of inside but it was smoky. Cooled off pretty good but we survived.

And the fun is just beginning! Stay tuned.
