The Sun Returns to Texas

Last night we had a great rainstorm.  I think it must have rained most of the night and we even had thunder and lightning.  Since we need the rain, we were really glad to get it.  But this morning was absolutely great.  When I woke up the sun was shining brightly and the sky was bright blue.  Now this is normal Texas weather, sun and blue skies, but we haven't had our fair share lately.  The last couple of weeks have been rather gloomy and gray.  Depressing weather that just isn't typical Texas.  My friend Birdie called and invited me to come out to Canyon Lake.  I had plans to bake cookies but plans are made to be changed and the sun was calling.

I headed out to the lake.  Once I arrived, Birdie and I took off for a walk.  The lake was blue and twinkled like it was covered with diamonds.  The campground was pretty full and people were out walking or sitting in the sun.  As we walked around, we saw a snow goose.

Birdie cooked a couple of steaks with baked white and sweet potatoes.  We sat outside in the sun after we ate and just enjoyed the day.  Welcome back sun.  Please stay and play.

  1. So nice you got your day of sunshine but I know TX really needs a whole lot more rain. So I'll wish you rain but with frequent sunny days. Merry Christmas.

  2. Ack, no sun here today in the Houston area! Just gray skies & 60% chance of rain tomorrow. I used to go to Canyon Lake a lot when I lived in San Antonio. I loved going there, used to go on back roads too. Gas was mucho cheaper back in those days too!
