Ponchartrain Landing, New Orleans, LA

We were headed back to stay at Pontchartrain Landing in New Orleans.  It's a Passport America park or this girl wouldn't be staying there at the normal rates but it is nice.  It is a few miles from the French Quarter, located on a water canal off of Lake Ponchartrain.  It is a fenced-in, clean, well taken care of, secure park which is nice in New Orleans.  I have been past another park closer to the French Quarter but it is really close to I-10 which would be noisy and it looks like quarters are really tight both for parking and just for getting in.

We arrived after the office was closed.  They told me to just use the call button at the gate and someone would be right out to show us to a site.  That is exactly how it happened.  The first site the attendant led us to would have been a little tight to back into since several people had their big trucks sticking too far out but he quickly led us on to a site right on the water.  This was the view out our door.

And this was looking back at our RV.  They have done some additional landscaping since we were here last summer.  They also added several rental cabins and a couple of boat house rentals right on the water.  Looks like they will be adding some more.

Their clubhouse, office, and pool are on the top of this little hill.  The pool isn't gigantic but it's nice.  They also have a hot tub down below near a waterfall coming from the pool edge.  You can rent some jet skis.  They also have a laundry and small store as well as restrooms and showers.

We just relaxed around the park that night.  "Mom, there's a monkey in my chair!"

Guess who was busy "relaxing" on the free Internet?"  Okay, I got to use it too but not long enough to get my blog written.

  2. So glad Steve noticed that tire in time and it is always wonderful to hear there are still good people in this world to help a stranger :) And those fur kids are so cute! :)

    1. Thanks Sharon. I was glad that Steve had eagle eyes and can deal with anything. I realized after I got home that my platinum Jayco warranty includes roadside assistance so I will be okay on my own too.

  4. Great looking park especially for a PA park. I can't believe that monkey hasn't been torn to shreds yet.

    1. Sock Monkey is Steve and Helen's traveling mascot. He's been a lot of places and the Traveling Longdogs don't get to touch him. Harley and Gretchen would probably carry him around but Willy would quickly have his way with him.
