Morgan's Mardi Gras

Morgan's birthday is here already.  What to do.....what to do?  Well, first Steve and Helen took the kids to play Monster Golf which is done with laser lights.  They had a great time.  Then they came to our house for dinner and party. We decided to bring Mardi Gras to Morgan since she wouldn't be going to Mardi Gras. Of course, I forgot to take a picture of the Mardi Gras table before we all sat down. Morgan walked in and immediately spied the pendant banners leading the way to the dining room. The table was all set with a purple cloth and yellow plates and cups.  She was thrilled.

Morgan and Cameron both got feather masks to wear.  Morgan also has one that she got in New Orleans on an RV trip through there two summers ago.

She didn't want to take the mask off so she wore it for the whole party except while she was eating her hamburger.  Then it was on to the presents.  She got a "secret" journal with a voice recorded password and disappearing ink.

And a kit to make rubber band bracelets which are all the rage with young girls these days.  The box is to hold all her supplies.

Harley was pretty interested in all the party antics too.

And the birthday cake was a "King Cake".  Morgan thought that was really neat.  No, she is not 5....I think that is how many candles Helen found at the last minute.

Everyone thought the "cake" was really good.  I had no idea they came in "flavors" but Morgan's was cinnamon.  It tasted like a really great coffee cake.

And you will never guess who found the "baby" in their piece of cake????  So I guess Miss Morgan will be having lots of luck.

Yes, we can definitely count this among the "successful" birthday parties and one Morgan won't forget.

  2. Looks like lots of fun for all. Love the Harley pic. In our part of the world, whoever gets the baby, buys the next cake for all to share. That way, there's always King Cake around this time of year.:-)

  4. What a wonderful birthday theme! You are the bestest!

Those rubberband bracelets are so sweet and keeps the young gals occupied with patterns and colors and repeats etc. When we were hosting last summer, a little gal camping next to us made me one! awwww
