Visit to Old Town Spring

April Fool's Day.....how could I have forgotten? Probably because we have been so busy the last week or so. Well we are off on another sightseeing trip today, to Old Town Spring. Deb came over and picked me up and we were off. We had to head back down towards Houston but traffic wasn't bad. I saw a sign for it when we went past heading north but it was a lot more elusive heading south. Of course, it would have helped had we turned the GPS on before we set out.

Old Town Spring is a quaint little shopping area, a little touristy but fun. They have a museum but it was closed.

Anyone need a hospital for their dolls? This place was actually pretty large.

Antique shops are popular wherever you go.

Must have been some Louisiana residents resettled here.

This was not the only Pet Boutique in town. They had specialty foods and lots of parphenalia for our furry friends.

We visited a bead shop with hundreds of different kinds of beads....Deb makes jewelry. An then we had lunch at Ellen's. It was larger inside than you would think and there were tons of customers.

A caboose parked along the main street.

Lots of unique little shops.

There are also homes in the area that are interesting.

All in all, we had a very nice day. We drove back to Lake Conroe to the Thousand Trails where we picked up Duncan, Deb's beautiful long haired dachshund and headed back to Park on the Lake. The dachsies were all happy to see each other again. I was planning to cook a couple of steaks on the grill but the wind picked up pretty briskly so I had to cook them in a pan. Definitely not the same. We all relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.
