A Day in Montgomery TX

Today was our Montgomery day. Good thing our plans are always made in jello. The plan was to visit the Farmland Historical Park and Museum but when we arrived, there was no one there and no explanation so we moved on to the second stop of the day....brunch at the Magnolia Diner. This restaurant was a great find. They serve homestyle food and breakfast all day. Think Belgian waffle with chocolate chips and strawberries or waffles with eggs and bacon or biscuits and gravy. They did a great job taking care of all of us.

Later on we took a little tour of Montgomery. There is a nice little square with shops on one side of the highway. The chain type stores and restaurants are on the other side of the highway.

We also had planned to go to Sunshine Farm but it was raining so we decided to pass on that one.

Later on at Happy Hour, we had a Bon Voyage party for our friend Sharon who is leaving Texas and heading home to Pennsylvania. Sharon is one of those people you just feel lucky to have pass through your life. She is always a joy to be around. We will miss her but her spirit will be at all our future GTGs.

The weather cleared up and we had a lovely campfire later in the evening.
