Willow City Loop Wildflowers Continue

There is nothing more relaxing than a country drive particularly if it involves lots of wildflowers.

Obviously my favorites are the Texas Bluebonnets.

Passing one area to another across a cattle guard.

Wide open vistas look out across a valley. See the blue smudges on the smooth green areas? Wildflowers....bluebonnets.

Of course the Indian Paintbrushes are pretty too and contrast so nicely with the bluebonnets. Throw in a little rock and you have a great picture.

Bluebonnets also look great with cacti.

Even ordinary thistles can look beautiful in the right setting.

The road twists and turns so you can get some interesting shots without leaving the car.

We have had enough rain in the last week for the water to run over the road several times.

Some interesting cacti with lovely flowers on them.

Lots of barbwire and then some metal pipe fences too.

These ladies were apparently not aware that rattlesnakes like wildflowers too. Always be very careful...you shouldn't be walking through the flowers and crushing them anyway.

There will be more. I hope you are enjoying them.
