Relaxing at Riverbend RV Park, Luling TX

We left Sulfur, Louisiana, on Saturday morning heading west to Luling, Texas. I've heard about this park before and wondered what it was like. Friend Anita stayed here on her way east to the Pink FlaminGoes GTG. She gave me a package of things to do in Luling that she got at the park. On top of all that, it is a Passport America park so we decided to give it a try.

There is a horse training place next store to the RV park and they have this cute sign with cut-outs to stick your head through for a picture. Unfortunately there weren't any horses there while we were at the park. It would have been fun to watch them going through their paces.

We thought we were going to have pull-through sites but they put us at the back of the park near the river. Once I got it in and set up, it was nice. Mary Jane's rig really isn't all that small but she was parked a lot further back than I was as she fit right under the tree and got great shade. My site sloped down at the back so I couldn't go back as far and still get level. I had to unhook the truck as I had to lower the front of the 5th wheel to be level.

View out the back of the RVs. It was a very high bank on our side.

There was access to the river further down the road so that you could swim there or put your kayak in for a paddle or go tubing.

There were some obstructions you would have to work around. When we were checking in, a woman was asking about tubing and how to get down to the river. The park people told her to go up to Luling and float down to the park but to be absolutely sure they got out at the park or the next place they could get out would be 13 miles away.

Two RVs and a tiny house were kind of off by themselves further down the road in the other direction.

There were a lot of RVs here but it was nice and quiet. I think some may have been people working nearby but the sites were all very neat and nice.

They have a pool. It isn't huge but it was nice and very well kept.

This building has bathrooms with showers, a 1/2 bath for those that needed one while at the pool, a laundry, and a fully equipped kitchen with some tables. They have a large recreation room up behind the office with couches for watching movies as well as tables for group events.

They also have a catch and release pond with no license needed.....and, of course, you could also fish in the river.

I think we will stay and enjoy the scenery and check out the area for a few days.
