2023-11-13 Fredricksburg TX TRR Rally

Our annual meeting Texas Ramblin' Roses rally was at the Vineyards RV Park in Fredericksburg Texas. We had a rally there when it first opened and it was awful. The managers locked the bathrooms at 9PM. They got really bad reviews. Fast forward to now and new managers. It's a whole different scenario. The check in process was so simple.....an envelope with site number and paperwork was waiting for everyone outside the office. Just pick it up and go to your site. Probably started back when covid was rampant but it worked great.

This is the office with apartments above, a very large rally room with kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms.

They had a nice pool but it was too cool. They also had a hot tub which my sister-in-law and I used twice. It was bubbly and hot. The only down side was that the steps that led into it were too high and they really, really need a railing on them.

They also have a great outdoor pavilion with a grill and a very nice big group firepit.

If you don't have an RV you can stay in one of these neat conestoga wagons complete with A/C.

Or you might like one of these cabins.

The RV sites are spacious and level with gravel that is raked prior to every checkin. They also include picnic tables and firepits.

The tables are very nice square tables with benches. Two of our members were helping Teri fix a small problem on her door. Our members travel in all different kinds of RVs from antiques to...

...huge class As.

And everything in between.

Carolyn gave a talk about making goatsmilk soap.

We had a christening ceremony for several RVs.

We had a great breakfast with breakfast casserole, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon rolls prepared by Elaine with several helpers, the officers cooked hamburgers for everyone one night, and we had catered fajitas another night. Then we had a band one night.

Our group was a little smaller than usual with only abouut 45 rather than 75 which is normal for this annual meeting.

It was a nice rally in a very nice park.

  1. Great blog. What a difference new managers made to the RV park. You make me want to go there, but we hardly ever camp close to home. I guess we figure we can do that when we're 80. LOL.
