Good Eats at Babe's Chicken Dinner House

Tuesday morning we all got to relax and then we headed out to Babe's Chicken Dinner House for lunch. Babe's is a small chain in the North Central Texas area. Each restaurant is decorated differently but the food offered is the same. We went to the Cedar Hill Babe's which opened in June 2009. The Cedar Hill location is a remodel of the Cedar Hill City Hall. It actually started out as a fire station in 1962 and became the City Hall in 1987. The southwest corner of the building is a monument built to honor the buildings previous service. It includes a series of radio towers which once transmitted police and fire operations.

Time for a little phone training before the food arrives.

At Babe's, you order your meat (fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken fingers, chicken fried steak, catfish, or ribs) and then all the sides are served family style.

The food was great and the waitress was really on top of things.

No one left hungry and most had leftovers for dinner. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Wednesday was a free day. Some of the group went shopping, some had laundry, some went kayaking, etc.  And Wednesday night was our potluck. I didn't get any pictures outside but Liz and Kim set up all the dishes people brought in their mini kitchen.

And a good time was had by all!
