Friday morning Carolyn and I headed over to Mission Espiritu Santu but more on that in the next post. We got side tracked by the trail leading out of the mission grounds. Carolyn wanted to go just a little way down the trail, haha.
The trail beckons you even in the winter.
You have to go on to just the next trail sign.
The grass was greener along the trail.
Oh yes, stairs leading down to the river.
Another different environment along the trail.
And of course, more steps leading back up.
And another bridge.
This area is where the COE workers made the adobe bricks to rebuild the mission.
The "furnace" they used to cure the bricks.
Hmmm, an animal den?
Let's hope there are no more stairs.
I think we must be getting near the end and the trail is actually a loop back to the mission.
We made it all the way around. It said .3 miles but I think that had to be "as the crow flies" not the actual length of the trail itself.
Great fun!
