2024-06-09 Heart of Texas Country Music Museum

We also toured the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum while we were in Brady. It starts outside with a tour of the bus used by Jim Reeves.

The bus is across the street from the museum and the building next to it was closed so we didn't know where to go until we turned around.

It's a bit smaller and not so fancy as some of the newer models but you can go inside and check it out.

The front has seats for most of the band.

At the back are two sets of bunk beds. In between are two little areas that may have been closets.

Next up, the inside of the museum. even if you aren't into country music, the costumes are beautiful.

There are pictures of the artists who worn the costumes.

I bet you recognize Dolly.

Costumes are designed to grab your eye.

Many of the stars are older country music stars.

Did you grow up with Roy Rogers?

Elvis wasn't really a country singer but this is his bumper car.

Lots of glitz and glamour here. The museum is free but donations are always appreciated. There are regular country music festivals here in Brady in case you are interested. The museum is well worth a trip for everyone.
