So we did.
The other 3 or 4 RVs were on the other side of Carolyn.
This is what was right behind us. You can see the hookup on the left side of the picture about halfway down. The water hookups were on that line that looks like a fence.
We were fine with this. The other RVs there looked like they had something to do with rodeos. We were safe and secure with full hookups for only $25 and, for Santa Fe, that is very cheap.
Harley was quite interested in the horse in the pen behind us so we went for a little visit where they checked each other out. Sorry I didn't get a picture of the that.
Carolyn was very interested in the Route 66 part of Santa Fe so we set out to do a picture tour of all the old motels and motorcourts that still remain from the Route 66 days. It was interesting and almost all we found are still in use but I bet the prices are quite a bit different.
Interesting artwork at one of the motels caught Carolyn's attention. My job was to find a place to stop long enough for her to get pictures.....not always easy considering most were on a busy road.
We had another list of things to see including this Saint.
And this church.
Our last part of this tour was the Santa Fe Railyard which I have to admit, we found while wandering looking for the other places on the list. It is definitely a tourist draw.
This building is an art project. At first glance it looks like it is crumbling and falling apart but it is actually all done with pain. See the dragon?
Last on the list for today is Fort Marcy. You can park below and walk up a long wide path that winds up the hill or you can go around through a neighborhood and find the road leading up to the top. Yes, we took the road as it was getting late in the afternoon.
They have lots of information available about the fort.
That ended a great day of sightseeing and we headed back to Rodeo de Santa Fe.
Very interesting reading. Who knew? Thanks.
