The Longdogs

The Longdogs
Harley takes his role as navigator seriously!

Okay, Enough with the Mud

Finally we had sun today and by tomorrow, maybe I won't be doing this several times a day.  I know we need the rain, we really do, and it really isn't the rain I mind....it is what happens after the rain lets up and the "kids" want to go outside again.

Really Willy, again, are you serious?  Yes, you are going in the sink.  Let's just hope you don't clog it up.

In you go, don't be smurking over there Gretchen.  You are next and then I am locking the door to the back yard.  Harley, come back here this instant!  Harley!

Sigh!  I am very tired of cleaning up muddy footprints.

  4. All is much quieter here today. I've only cleaned paws once and it wasn't anything like yesterday. Gretchen has much daintier paws than either Willy or Harley but she is also "little miss outdoor explorer". Usually you don't see mud on her toes until it dries and then I find tiny little bits of dried dirt on the floor. Right now they are all on my lap sleeping. Thank goodness the fan is on because they can put out some BTUs.

  5. Our red dauschund, Ben, was a real digger. He absolutely "loved" to dig in the mud. Your post today brought back some fond memories of my favorite dog. Thanks.

  6. My hounds are not diggers nor do they like the rain ... they will walk under the house roof overhang to do what they need to do before they ever go out in a rain....maybe they will be good RVer's after all.

  9. Angel doesn't like the rain either, she goes under the slide and come right back inside. It is me that brings in the mud. I don't have a choice. What I did was to put a container with water that I can stand in to rince the mud off. You might put a tub or kiddie pool to walk them through. It is easier to dump and clean than wiggley paws getting yourown clothes muddy. Fun, Fun, Fun.

  11. I just giggle every time I look at this blog entry. Each one is acting just like they have no idea what is happening. They worked so hard to get it just right! Love them puppies - they'd love being with us right now. Lots of power walks!
