Scored a Great Camping Spot at Coe Landing County Park

We didn't have to be out of the RV park until Sunday afternoon so we took advantage of the time to relax. Well, some of did anyway. Martha headed out very early for home in Louisiana. Mary Jane left next although much later. She was on her way to Biloxi to meet up with family but she had several days to get there. Liz and Birdie left next. Carolyn and I were the last to pull out. We planned to spend one more night back at ACV in Dowling Park with our friends Birdie, Liz, and Bob before we set out on another adventure. Since that was only an hour away, there was no rush. When I arrived and set up, I immediately noticed that I was missing the right rear passenger side chrome hub cap. Although I didn't hear or see anything, I knew it had to have happened on the way back to Dowling as it was immediately noticeable. Liz insisted on driving me all the way back to look for it along the way but we could not find it anywhere.

We thought it would be fun to go to St Augustine but a great deal of searching failed to turn up any place to stay in the RVs......the east and west coasts of Florida get booked up far in advance in the winter even though the northern part gets some pretty cool weather. Cool to us southerners but still warm to the snow birds from the far north. We found spaces at a great county park just outside of Tallahassee. It took a couple of phone calls to coordinate with the park manager so he could get us into spots for two nights. Coe Landing turned out to be a very nice Leon County park right on a lake. We had water and electric in nice spaces with a view of the lake. It was $25/night for a really nice place.

It was quiet and friendly and I discovered that Leon County provides Internet free for the whole county......what a score.

The view from my door!

Nicely spaced out gravel sites withgood sized patios with tables and fire rings.

There was a nice boat launch right next door with picnic tables for day visitors.

We sat outside for happy hour.

There were a couple of walkways and docks for fishing.

Great views.

Carolyn had to back up a little slope to her spot but there was a very large flat RV area at the top.

We had dinner in my RV so Harley had some company but Carolyn brought the fixings.

Another great view.

This park was really a great find.

Day use boating launch area.

Views from the walkway along the far shore of the boat launch area.

This place is definitely on my list for any other trips to this area. It was a quick drive into town for anything you needed or to sightsee which we did the next day.
